This hasn't always been the case. When it comes to worship music history It seems like the acoustic guitar shows up in different eras.

A look back

Now, just so we're clear. "Worship" has been around long before the G chord. Worship is an incredibly broad subject of ascribing worth to God, but in this case, we'll be talking about worship music in the church over the last 4 decades.

In the 70's you had the Jesus Movement. It was marked by 12 string acoustics and the good 'ole Applause by Ovation.

Katie and I had a refreshing time away this last week. We got back yesterday feeling refreshed and happy.

Can't believe we have a month left until our little dude comes into the world. It's going to be an awesome adventure.

Speaking of that... To all the mom's out there: Happy Mother's Day!

Who hasn't?

In D.A. Carson's book entitled A Call to Spiritual Reformation, he gets to the heart of what a biblically oriented prayer life is.

There is no such thing as true prayer that is outside of the Spirit. Like some might draw the comparison between praying in English and praying in a "private prayer language".

One minute you're praying in the Spirit (tongues) and one minute you're not (English).

Nope.

So what does praying in the Spirit mean? Read More.

I'm heading down to the beach today with Katie for a much-needed vacation. I may get a lot of blogging done or may not do anything at all. We shall see.

Wordpress is great though. I can schedule a post ahead of time. Like now. I'm actually writing this on Wednesday the 2nd. So for you that's last week. Love it.

My blogging mostly happens during the early morning. I find it very therapeutic to just write. I later refine the posts and schedule them ahead of time to publish.

Sometimes I have nothing to write about. Other times I have a clear topic or a series I'm in.

Today it's all about the last 4 months. Here are just a few highlights of the Fancher family's start to the year. Read More.

Here is the last in my series on personal growth. If you haven’t read the other three, I recommend you go back and read them to get the full picture.

Assessment asks “where am I?”, alignment, “where am I going?”, and action asks, “how will I get there?”

You may have noticed that a gap was created between your assessment and alignment, where you are now and where you hope to be. The third and critical step is creating an action plan to bridge this gap. Think of it as a road map to get you from your current location to your desired destination.
