Making money on the internet used to be the wild, wild west. But these days it’s normal. The phrase “online business” is a pleonasm—like saying black darkness or burning fire. Very rarely is a business not online now. Sure there are some, but they are few and far between.

But the type of online work I’m referring to is the kind that takes place only on the internet.

I started publishing on the internet in 2004, and I’ve seen a lot of things come and go online. MySpace anyone? But the kind of online business that I ultimately found to be my favorite is affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a thriving online business model that anyone can learn, whether as a side hustle, or as a healthy full-time income. It’s simply a model where a business pays you commissions when someone purchases it through your recommendation. Like a referral program but way more robust.
