Surrender was written while thinking up ways to jam on Am while on an acoustic. What started out as a simple exploration of Am, Em and Dm, ended up the beginning of a little reggae/pop song.
Though the chorus is more intuitive and easier to sing, the song wasn’t really intended to be a “congregational” worship song.
One could certainly try it in a worship setting (perhaps as a special or something) but don’t expect people to sing the verses with any “corporate” gusto – at least not at first…
But use it however you’d like!

Lyrics
Now’s the time
Salvation has come, and you and I must
Taste and see, that free we will be
Why resist the flow?
Just surrender and you will know
There’s nothing sweeter than when you let your worries go
Just raise a voice and sing out…
Here’s my life
Here’s my all
I surrender
Have my heart
Have my soul
I surrender
You can cast all cares
They’re too heavy anyway
There’s nothing worse than being a slave to the burden every day
Just cry out He’s not far…
Here’s my life
Here’s my all
I surrender
Have my heart Have my soul
I surrender
Freedom comes
When I lay it down
I surrender
Here’s everything
Have my crown
I surrender
Here at the cross, I trust in you
Seeing your love, I trust in you
You laid down your life, in my place
Now I will surrender all to your grace
